Thursday May 19

We made it to Ephesus.

spotted some bulls.

Took a Turkish bath in an ancient Roman Turkish bath ruin.

sat on an Ancient Roman toilet... yuck.

wished in between the two rocks designated for wishing.

struck some poses in honor of the goddess Artemis

even had a chance to drop by the local library.

shouted "great is Diana of the Ephesians" over and over in the theater.

and marveled at the honesty of the local merchants.

Ephesus remains to be the best preserved ancient city in the world and one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. The city protector was Artemis, the Goddess whose temple was one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World." I felt the spirit so strong here. This place truly brought Paul to life for me and it was incredible.

All very neat don't get me wrong but Ephesus was my favorite for a different reason...

Heck. Yes. They. Have. Snails. Here.

and you better believe that i may or may not have kept these three in my pocket for the rest of the day...

Then moved on to Miletus.
found the inscription to the "God-Fearers" on the bench in the theater.

and went back to our hotel where the pool was a hot spring and was filled with mud and old people but we swam our hearts out anyway.
last highlight: Open buffet had KETCHUP!

sometimes wishing rocks are very useful. take advantage of every opportunity to pause in awe when you least expect finding and spotting some snails. celebrate this moment.
It is written.
