day ten, i can't wait to remember when...

Going for walks on the Sabbath has always been a hobby of mine. Me and Dad loved to walk around the block on Sundays to see what we could see and i have carried on that tradition since leaving the birds nest. Sabbath walks in Jerusalem are quite the adventure.

Today i was especially mindful of my dad as i went for my sabbath walk. Partly due to the beauty i wish we could have seen together.

and partly due to going into St. Stephen's Synagogue.

Remember: Stephen was the apostle stoned to death after claiming that the Law of Moses was done away with after Christ. He was stoned to death right outside of Lion's Gate, and this little Mosque was right out front of it (a fifteen minute walk from my house). We went in and talked to a nice Priest who hardly knew any English all about the meanings of the paintings on the walls and he invited us to light a candle and explore the tomb in a cold cave under the synagogue.

After a day's walk everything has twice its usual value. -George Macauley Trevelyan

Stand up for what you believe in.

Go for walks just to see what you can see.

it is written.
