Jordan Day 2.

We started our day off by hiking petra.
can i just say that this is probably my most favorite place on this planet earth?
reason 1. it reminds me of home. (zions national parklike feel)
reason 2. we got to hike, which i love doing!
reason 3. i have a fascination with bedouins. those little hippy nomads that lived here.
reason 4. indiana jones.

britt. jee. jimmy. me.

zions park like or what?

i was grinning from ear to ear the whole trek down.

we passed this Jonah and the whale rock. see the whale?

watched the sun rise over us higher and higher.

marveled at the colored limestone.

even spotted the moon.

all before reaching the most anticipated point in the quest:

do do do--do do do--do do do do--do do do do do.

i felt like a little kid seeing disney land for the first time.
it was so much bigger, magicaller, and happier than i could have ever imagined!

we were greeted by camel, i love camels.

i know what you're all thinking...
if you love camels so much... than why don't you marry it?
(lame childish joke i know, but it just popped into my head and it sounded like a nice thing to write on here for posterity.)

i about died after we made it to Petra. i felt super sick. until brother judd saved my and britt's lives by buying us one of these bananers. i love brother judd, i am so grateful for him looking out for me since i have been here.

then we decided to hike to the monastery.

it was a beautiful view as we went up and up and up.

man was this view shocking.
we turned a corner after thousands of stairs and ran into this baby.
magnificent.

we all climbed in and took some pictures.
(P E T R A)
((I'm the "A"))
claimed jordanian victory on top.

all while hiking with this beautiful girl.
Megan.
She is the best hiking partner ever.
we even planned to take up a few hiking trips once we make it back to provo.

from the monastery we continued up to see the "view of the end of the world"

it was pretty remarkable.
i then took the liberty of leaving the smallest stone on top of this pile.
to leave my mark on this world of course.

then hiked all the way back down the stairs to lunch
(no pictures)
and off exploring again.

these are some of my beautiful models friends.

and can i tell you there is nothing like going cold turkey on Dr. P. for over 2 months to having a cold refreshing one in the middle of the hot dessert after exploring for hours. NOTHING.

and finally my moment came.
what i had been waiting for...
the epic camel riding experience of a life time.

tears of joy were on the edge of my eyeballs as i mounted this camel.
when he stood up i hooted and hollered.
when he walked around in the circle i sang do do do do....
when he sat down i was full of fear.
when he had come to a full and complete stop: i didn't want to get off.
emotional roller coaster that experience was, and one i'll never forget.

hooray for camels.
(caption of this next photo)

then we pulled over on the side of the road to see the ancient "King's Highway" remains.
pretty cool if you are into that stuff.
(and if you're not, just pretend to walk on the remains while your friend pretends to be a king)

and you would think my adventures were over for the day.
NOT So.
We then got to go to Shobak castle and explore.
me chewie and tyson decided to go through the ancient escape tunnel.
great idea.
we had one hand lamp between us.
it was pitch black with very slippery slopes.
it was straight down.
and when we finally found the exit, we had to climb up a sketchy ladder to a place we had no idea where we were at.
it. was. awesome!

but we did see these boys playing under the only tree around for miles out in the distance.
so we knew if all else fails we could runaway and live with them.

deep breath.
And that was day two!

cheers to adventure. ride a camel if you ever get the chance. and heck, marry a camel if you ever get the chance to do that too.
-it is written.
