day four consisted of us roaming the streets of Amman.
we found these colored chicks.
reminded me of the time i colored my tree frogs with permanent markers to remember which one was mine which one was josh's... that worked great.... til the ink poison settled in and they died a bit later.
i couldn't imagine the poor fate of these florescent chicks.
so i posed for pics and tried to convince myself that maybe these chicks were simply born this way.
then the irony set in as we ate kfc for lunch.
was glad to get some "normal" food.
but sad to realize my meal was made from brothers and sisters of those poor chick friends i had just admired earlier. luckily the chicken inside the kentucky fried shell of yumminess was not dyed blue or pink, but normal chicken color.
then a quick devotional stop at the traditional baptismal site for Jesus at the Jordan River.
it was beautiful.
quite amazing to see this side of the Jordan was Jordan and across where those benches are is Israel.
there were guards there and we were told not to make any attempts of communication to the people on the other side of the river.... little scary moment.
quick toe dip in the jordan.
and we headed back to our beautiful jerusalem home.
but just past jericho i saw this wonderful site.
a camel on a leash.
(look closely)
call me evil, but i found it widely amusing.
we were home for a few hours then off to the MATISYAHU concert.
Matisyahu.
in jerusalem.
ya, be jealous.
jerusalem if i forget you...
let my right hand forget what it's supposed to do.
[got to love lyrics of a hasidic jewish reggae musician trying to find his place in this world]
i love you jerusalem!
-it is written.
